Groomers at QVC are not just hair cutters, they are stylists who will, if requested, design the best look for your dog, a look that suits the dogs based on their activity level, body structures and maintenance needs.


Dr. Sharlene Somarathne
BVSc MRCVS
Dr. Sharlene Somarathne graduated in 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College in the UK. She volunteered in Chang Mai’s Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand before embarking on a charity spay and neuter program for stray dogs in India. She completed an Internship program at a small animal hospital in the UK before moving to Qatar with her husband in 2012 where she worked in small animal practice.
Dr. Sharlene particularly enjoys Cardiology, working up challenging medical cases, and is passionate about communicating well with clients to ensure that they are involved in their pets’ healthcare.
Outside of work, she is kept busy with her lively 6-year-old son and her cat who she treated as a kitten with a spinal injury and went on to adopt and adore.
In her spare time, she enjoys learning Swedish, Book Club, and baking anything that contains sugar!

Dr. Natalia joins us from Italy. She is extremely experienced having worked the last 11 years in Australia, India, Italy, and Cape Verde.
Dr. Natalia takes great pleasure in seeing challenging cases and delivering a very high standard of Veterinary care. She has specialist skills in abdominal ultrasound and clinical pathology/cytology.
She brings with her a very lucky rescue dog. She loves to continue the veterinary science learning journey and is passionate about attending congresses and lectures in her spare time.

Dr. Eric Chen
Dr. Eric graduated from the University of Melbourne and then worked for a busy small animal practice in Australia. Seeking more adventure he then worked for a large chain of respected western hospitals based across multiple cities in China and Hong Kong, before joining Qatar Veterinary Center.
He brings over a decade of experience with his main professional interests including internal medicine, endocrinology, clinical pathology, and oncology.
He is working toward obtaining advanced qualifications in internal medicine.
Dr. Eric believes in practicing evidence-based medicine and is passionate about educating owners about caring for their pets, especially those with chronic health conditions.
In his free time, Dr. Eric enjoys travelling (his grand goal is to visit 100 countries), movies (he attends film festivals regularly), and seeing and experiencing different foods and cultures.

Dr. Lenny Leśniewski
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Lenny Leśniewski to the Qatar Veterinary Center Family.
Dr. Lenny joins us with extensive experience in, and passion for, soft tissue surgery including complex, state of the art procedures. He also has 1o years of orthopaedic experience including chest surgeries.
Dr. Lenny stresses the importance of the well being and recovery outcomes of his patients and handles complex surgical cases while providing the highest level of care.
Dr. Lenny is also a skilled diagnostician and is dedicated to ensuring accurate diagnosis and then implementing effective treatment plans to improve the health and well being of his patients. He is committed to promoting preventative care and educating owners.
Outside of the hospital Dr. Lenny was a semi professional basketball player. He loves sport including rock-climbing, running and diving. He is passionate about reading and is committed to personal development.

Dr. Louise Robin
Dr. Louise graduated from the University of Bristol veterinary school in the United Kingdom in 2007. She initially worked in mixed practice in the Peak District, treating small animals, horses and farm animals alike, and has concentrated solely on small animal work since 2011, most recently holding the role of senior vet at a large and very busy small animal practice in York.
In 2015 she completed a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Medicine) through the University of Liverpool veterinary school, and is an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. As such, she really enjoys challenging medical cases and also brings with her much experience in all areas of veterinary practice, including imaging and soft tissue surgery. She also really enjoys getting to know pets and their owners!
Dr Louise has volunteered with veterinary and conservation projects abroad, including helping to teach veterinary students in Ethiopia and in the conservation of leather back turtles in Costa Rica.
Outside of work she is kept busy with her two young sons, and enjoys a good game of tennis when time allows (and the weather is cool enough!)
She speaks English and is learning Arabic.

As a big thank you for being a loyal customer, Qatar Vet Center would like to reward you for bringing your pet to be groomed with us by offering a loyalty card where, after 5 full grooms the 6th grooming is totally FREE, the same applies to a partial groom.
It’s easy for your cat’s fur to get matted or tangled, especially if they are a long-haired breed. Our experienced and patient groomers are specially trained to work with felines and can help remove knots and tangles from your cat’s fur with minimum stress. We can even cut their claws and clean their ears, to leave them feeling in top condition.
Size guide (This is only a guide, we need to see your dog in person) - Small dogs (Toy poodle, Pom, Shih tzu, Maltese, Bichon, mini schnauzer, cavoodles, westies, etc) - Medium dogs (Miniature poodle, Spaniel, Bichon, etc) - Large dogs (Border Collies, German shepherd, labradors, Airedales, Groodles, etc ) - Extra Large (Old English dog, Malamute, etc) - XX large (Great Dane, etc)
SERVICES
We charge according to your dog’s size, condition of the coat and style of clip. Prices may vary when we actually see your dog in person. For dogs with extra fluffy hair (which requires extra time), not used to be groomed (which requires extra handling during grooming), matted hair, fleas or ticks, there will be an extra charge. Please check out our full menu when bringing your pet in and meeting the groomer.

(A full clip that only uses scissors: suitable for double coated breeds that should not be clipped) Full hand scissoring the whole body e.g. classic pom cut (using scissors to trim the whole body to achieve a roundish and fluffy look)
(Eg: Pom, Shelties, Japanese Spitz, Samoyed, Siberian Husky, Gold Retriever, etc.) Major brush out for double coated breeds & long hair breeds with special tools designed to get 90% of loose hair out. Includes a deluxe spa bath treatment, warm blow dry, major brush out and nail clip.
Our groomers have been trained in Europe to use 100% dog friendly dog hair dye to create the look and colour you want
