If your pet’s prior medical history and pre-anesthetic exam reveals elevated risk factors we may recommend a pre-anesthetic blood panel to ensure that they are healthy enough to undergo surgery. Pre-anesthetic blood testing is compulsory in high-risk patients which includes patients over 7 years old considered senior pets or with other health concerns.

We can carry a variety of anaesthetic regimes to suit all patients, from young to old. We use only the safest available anaesthesia to help ensure smooth and safe recoveries from surgery. Our doctors and trained veterinary technicians take great care in monitoring your pet’s vital signs, including heartbeat, blood pressure, oxygen levels and IV fluids. Anaesthesia monitoring equipment includes CO2 monitoring, pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitoring and digital ECG is available for both diagnostic and anaesthetic monitoring. For longer or thoracic surgeries a mechanical ventilator takes over the work of breathing.
